About
Mission
Our programs include listening sessions for pre-recorded works, live performances, sound baths, soundscapes, and workshops that invite the public into new ways of listening. Whether you’re coming for stillness in a darkened room or a more social activation, you can expect a carefully held environment—clear framing, intentional pacing, and deep attention to the experience of sharing space with others.

FAQ
Immersive & spatial audio are a way of presenting sound so you feel surrounded by it—listening “inside” the music rather than at it. In an immersive room, sound can be placed around you and can move through space, which can intensify the social and emotional impact of listening together.
Why is immersive & spatial audio important?
Spatial sound mirrors how we experience the world—three-dimensionally. It gives artists a larger creative canvas and gives audiences a more embodied way to listen: closer, more textured, more present. It can also shift listening from a passive activity into a shared experience—something communal, not solitary.
What kinds of listening experiences does Felt Void host?
Felt Void programs can include:
- Live performances in immersive audio environments
- Immersive album listenings
- Listening sessions for pre-recorded works
- Sound baths, soundscapes, and site-responsive activations
- Educational workshops and artist talks
Each event page will specify the format.
What is a listening session?
A listening session presents pre-recorded works played in a darkened room to focus attention on sound. These pieces are often created or mixed through extensive studio time, and do not include a live artist performing onstage. Some sessions may include a brief introduction or facilitated reflection before/after, but the core experience is deep listening.
Where do festivals or activations occur?
Felt Void events happen in partnership with venues—museums, galleries, universities, black box theaters, and community spaces. Locations, access notes, and arrival details are always listed on the event page and shared in our newsletter.
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive 20 minutes early. Many sessions start promptly, and late entry may not be permitted (or may be limited) to protect the experience for everyone.
Can I buy tickets at the door?
Tickets are subject to availability — we recommend booking in advance.
Is there a silence protocol during the sessions?
Yes. Speaking is not allowed during listening sessions. If you speak, you may be asked to step outside to respect the experience of others. We all need moments of silence—especially right now—and we want everyone to have the chance to receive that.
Can I take photos or videos?
During listening sessions, please don’t use your phone—screen light can disturb others and pull focus from the experience. During live concerts or more social activations, photos/videos may be allowed discreetly.
